    Artist description
New York City Funky Hip Hop Music:2-Man Army with weapons "specifically translated from pure thoughts to english language" Mustafa and Omasik form the revolutionary hip-hop group, The Hammer Bros. They are descendants of the original wave of refugees from 1948 Palestine. After relocating several times, their father finally settled in New York City, where he met their American born mother and was blessed with two soldiers who would later become skilled underground poets. The Bros. spent their early years as Muslim Arabs in a community of Jews. Through their family, they remained connected to their honorable heritage and maintained their ethnic identity. In their later years, they began to commute across New York City to go to school. In this process, they became exposed to the slang of the streets and the war beats. Mustafa honed his lyrical skills rhyming at underground shows in downtown Manhattan with the hip-hop band, Dujeous, as early as 1993. Omasik began engineering instant classics with the beat production squad, Everyday Wonders, in the Bronx several years later. In the late nineties, the two brothers formally founded their 2-man army known as The Hammer Bros. They played the New York underground circuit with astonishing live shows that left their audiences astounded and inspired. Their shows featured the “Insane Friends” - a mix of the most diverse rappers imaginable, featuring Big Rich the Rastafarian, Mista Vishus the thug, Mentor Mustafa the Albanian, Mas Dimitri the Jamaican-Jew pirate, and many more. They released their underground E.P., Proper Medium in the summer of 1999. In the 21st century, The Hammer Bros. focus on themes of self-empowerment, mass mobilization, and separating truth from falsehood. Although the Bros. fearlessly awaken the mental faculties of any party people who catch a show, they prefer to address a crowd of college students and listeners. They feel that because so many people attend college with the intention of gaining knowledge and self-improvement, colleges and universities are the perfect places to break down the false constructs programmed in to the youth of America. They have played at Wheaton College (Massachusetts), Earlham College (Indiana), Columbia University (New York City), and Arizona State University. Most recently, Mustafa gave a lecture at a special seminar at Sarah Lawrence College (New York) addressing issues of misogyny in the hip-hop industry. The Hammer Bros. are very aware that as Arab Muslims, they fall in to the category of the new public enemy number one. They work hard to set a good example, open peoples minds, and break negative stereotypes. Their songs truly deserve the title of conscious hip-hop. “ImageappeaL”, featuring Jigsaw the Puzzla, sheds light on the misleading illusions of our society through the humble perspectives of some down-to earth brothers. “The BLOB” explains to all the people what the problem is with the satanic system that we call the New World Order. Their most politically charged and controversial track is, “Free Palestine!”, the title track for their new full-length CD. With cover art that brings the reality of Palestinian concentration camps to the urban ghettos of N.Y.C., Free Palestine! is 13 tracks of revolutionary war music. The Hammer Bros. represent truth in any form it may take and opposition to lies and oppression by any and all means necessary. Look out for Free Palestine! on the Internet(www.mp3.com/thehammerbros) and in your local hip-hop shop. ORDERS AND BOOKINGS: TheHammerBros@aol.com
