DAWSON loves a variety of music, art, and literature. He digs Frederic Chopin, Claude Debussy, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubek, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis,and John Coltraine. Other heros are Ry Cooder, Don Byron, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon, Andy Narrell, Steve Erquiaga, Vladimir Horowitz, Artur Rubinstein, Aaron Copland, Kate Bush, Sara Hickman, Emmy-Lou Harris, Yo-Yo Ma, Mark O'Connor, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Doyle Bramhall Sr., Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Tony Williams, The California Guitar Trio, Tony Levin, and Geddy Lee. (Ok!, there are many more musicians I would love to mention but I have to stop otherwise this would never end!). Photographer Carleton Watkins is cool and Cezanne and Matisse are among his favorite artists. Artist History
Dawson is MUSIC DIRECTOR of TEXAS WORLD MUSIC CONCERTS. His debut recording release was in 1999. Dawon and his record label Beecher's Brook Publishing are releasing two more projects in 2003. He recorded at Luminous Sound (Dallas) his first Jazz Trio recording, DAWSON'S JAZZ, engineered by Grammy Nominee Chris Bell. He also plans to release his second singer-songwriter CD entitled "Patriot". He is very excited about these new releases and sample tracks will soon be available on MP3. |
