The Serenade- a music form developed from the suite, consisting of different movements susch as allegro, andante, adagio, minuet etc. The music is generally lively, light and easily accesible and used to be played as entertainment on special occasions inthe 17th and 18th centuries. The orchestration has the character of chamber music. At the time of the classical period. W.A. Mozart composed the best-know form of the serenade with his "Little Night Music" |
