Artist description
Rockfest is an instrumental band comprised of guitar, bass, and drums. Rockfest is creating a new genre. A new genre called "IRON-ORE."
Y'see, metal, as it stands today, has been weakened by all of it's mutations, Hair Metal, Nu-Metal, whatever. IRON-ORE is based on the idea of going back to metal's roots and starting over, re-casting, so to speak. This is not to say that Rockfest plays the heaviest metal, but rather that the metal that is created create is pure in form. It does not cater to the whim of those who try to tell us what is popular.

Artist History
Rockfest started in June 2000, initially for the purpose of filling in space on Live at WREK. That never happened because of a circumstance that the members of Rockfest had never expected: It turned out that Gary, Chris, and Matt played so well together during the initial jamming stage that no songs were written. There is a chemistry here that allows music written on-the-fly to sound like a song.
Basically, Rockfest takes the idea, commonly used in Jazz, of improvisation and applies it to metal. Rockfest is the preeminent improvisational metal band.
Rockfest is the preeminent IRON-ORE band. |
