Artist description
This album reels in a warm and crunchy,Washington DC alterna-rock sound, that fluctuates in its own dynamic with a certain tenacity, that would make even Dave Groll—of Foo Fighters fame—quite proud. The provocative yet desperate lyrics feel almost tethered to the glory of The Catherine Wheel’s Happy Days release, while the seesawing rhythms flavor the air like the buttery crust of a Sex Pistols souffle, baked by the callous hands of Gregg Dulli and the Afghan Whigs, then garnished with tiny plastic Everclear figurines, made in Taiwan by an 8-year-old shoeless factory worker, earning 12 cents a day so some fat cat record exec could save a little cash and overcharge the consumer for cds in order to promote another goddamned boy-band. Weren't we all tortured enough by NKOTB? |

Artist History
Jim (vocals/guitar) and Jeff (drums) met during a bar-fight in college, and eventually started writing and performing in several bands before being 'formally' introduced to Scott (bass) at a White House reception in the spring of 1998. From there, the three forged a unique sound and created an extensive catalog of original music, fluctuating in dynamics and a certain audible viscosity, from 'slow-dancing with your date at the prom,' to 'ditching her and going out with her mom.' |

Press Reviews
********* "Reticent Virgo has a release entitled, The End Of This. This three-piece outfit has some heart and power that they clearly demonstrate on this rather punkish release. They rock, plain and simple. Go get some!" - Music Monthly, April 2001 ********* "Hard rock, punk rock, alt rock... With so many different kinds of rock out there, it's hard to tell how each individual style of music can be classified. Reticent Virgo, however, falls under a very easily defined catagory: Stardog worthy(pretty damn good for a local band). Why it hasn't been added earlier is a mystery to me. RV is kinda soft, kinda fast, kinda pretty freakin' good. If you like semi-soft rock that has all the good qualities of punk and alt rock, RV is for you." -Will Tomlinson, Stardog Radio - www.stardogradio.com ********* |
