Artist History
Gustavo Scolieri, rooted in Spanish guitar traditions, makes an abundant use of brilliant right-hand techniques and rhythms derived from flamenco, on this, his long anticipated second full-length recording "Guitarra Negra" (Black Guitar). Gustavo's sense of articulation and maturity for compostion is clearly expressed, taking you on a guilded tour of his Mediterranean heritage fro which this album is a catalyst. An inspirational rendition of the "U2" classic "One" creates an interesting change of pace for the known intrumental artist that is sure to amaze. Combining virtuosi guitar runs, both melodic and lyrical and accompanied by Gustavo's highly energetic band Puente del Diablo, you are taken to a borderless frontier, where new and worlds of Spanish guitar collide as one. Reestablishing the footing from where "415", his critically acclaimed debut release left off, "Guitarra Negra" recaptures the true modern flamenco sound for which Gustavo Scolieri and Puente del Diablo have become world-famous. |
