D. "Master Prophet" Murrell (Biography courtesy of Lambdalion Publishing) Born in Topeka, Ks. He experienced the reality of life (and death) at the young age of 10 years when he witnessed the fatal shooting of his father at the hands of a corrupt preacher. Following the death of his father his family relocated to Clovis, NM. His Mother Joined Bethlehem Baptist Church and he was baptized by Rev. R.L. Smith on September 21st 1975. Master Prophet was somewhat of a loner during his school years and strayed from the church. He and the friends that he did have continuously seemed to find themselves in trouble. After years of petty crimes he moved on to drug dealing then to addiction and eventually found himself in prison. From prison Master Prophet committed himself to Victory Life Fellowship (Christian Men’s Home). What started out to be a three-month trip to Victory Life Fellowship ended up lasting over fifteen months. Under the direct guidance of Pastor Alex Hernandez God began to develop and refine the gift of making music as well as giving him a deeper understanding of His Holy word. Master Prophet considers those fifteen months as the wisest decision and the most important fifteen-months of his life. Master Prophet was led and taught by many "Mighty Men of God" as led by the Holy Spirit and was given the blessed privilege of becoming the music minister at Victory Life Fellowship Church. During his stay at Victory Life the Lord saw fit to move him up amongst the ranks until he became the head counselor of the men’s home. After leaving Victory Life Fellowship Master Prophet was "Licensed to Preach the Gospel" At Triangle Baptist Church in Clovis, NM on the 7th day of March 1999 by Rev. T.G. Martin. When asked about facing opposition from people who question his realness or senserity Master Prophet had this to say "I try to walk as Paul did.... Forgetting those things that are behind me and straining toward what is ahead. Paul said in Philipians 1:6 -Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus- God is doing something good through me and in me and for a change that's a good thing. I can't allow people who refuse to accept the mercy of God in anyone’s life other than their own and those that they choose to accept to stop me from doing what God has for me to do, I'm just glad God is doing the judging rather than them." When asked about his lyrics Master Prophet responded by saying, “ People get upset at the boldness of my lyrics but I learned long time ago that the word of God is bold. If there’s something in my songs that offends anyone then I suggest that they take it directly to God in prayer. Jesus didn’t come into the world to heal those that consider themselves to be well, but he did come to heal the sick. So if it hurts (the message inside the lyrics) then say ouch and take the situation to God in prayer...he’ll either give you revelation into the lyrics he has given me or else he’ll send the comforter to put a band-aide on the pain.” When asked what the GPH stood for Master Prophet says “ Gods Powerhouse Productions, God has made each of his saints pillars and we need to stand strong, unashamed and powerful in his might...even if we stumble and fall, once we call on Jesus he is faithful to pick us up again.....Jesus even sent his disciples to "Gather up the Fragments."copyright 2001 Lambdalion Publishing |
