Artist History
Derailleur formed in 1993, bringing together bassist Andy Woodhouse (Thermos, Victim's Family), guitarist Hans Fahling, and drummer Patrick O'Brian (Deftones, Hard) from a then vibrant scene in ugly Sacramento, California. The trio showed an apparent cohesion immediately: They published a recording, "Exorcisor E.P.", after having written material together for a mere 2 1/2 months. The songs illustrate a sound of a band that might have been working for years as well as a musicality in songwriting that isn't heard much in such powerful rhythmic and harmonic density. Currently, Derailleur have been taking a hiatus from the scene but could be reforming in the near future. |
