Artist History Das Pu Chen: A Very Brief History.Das Pu Chen was started when Carl Danowski went to friend and guitarist Tom Willis with some rough verse. Several very creative sessions later, Carl and Tom realized they were on to what could be a very fruitful collaboration. Carl quickly recruited his brother Eric Danowski, for drum work, and long time friend Nick Francschina for bass guitars. After the addition of these members, as well as practice and recording space, provided by cleaning out Carl's basement, thefoursome would begin hours of fun work in the creation of unique, high energy, honest rock music. The music and verse you will hear in their up coming release, "The Fall of Venus," was developed over a several month periodby three talented musicians and one lyrical poet. Their influences are as unique as they each are individually. Moreover, none of them had any pre-conceived notion about howthis should sound. As is always the case, the sum is greaterthan the parts. The music in "The Fall of Venus" is a reflection of the four unique human beings that comprise Das Pu Chen. In short, we are all responsible for this outrage.Das Pu Chen plans on playing out in some of the clubs in the Cincinnati Area. Unfortunately (or fortunately) they have no friends in the local music scene, so gigs may be pretty rare atfirst. As Carl says, "Screw it, let's just do gigs off the deckhere in Maineville. I'll ask the neighbors nicely, I mean, pay them heavily not to call the cops."Das Pu Chen also plans to fully utilize the internet as the primarydistribution channel. As Tom said, "It has been my experience thatlabels (local or otherwise) will have little or nothing to offer usthat does not include selling our souls." Rock on.
