Artist History
While I started on guitar around 1986, when I was 18, that proved to be only the beginning of my musical journey. Since then, I've dabbled with many other instruments, from mandolins to metal-strung harp to sitar to concertina. Guitar still forms the foundation of a lot of what I do, but since 1994, when I got my first Native American flute, that has truly been the soul. In comparison to guitar, the NAF is a very simple instrument: five or six holes, only subtle control of the airstream. Yet, from that very simplicity can be drawn the most haunting and evocative of tones, melodies that sink comfortably into the heart. |
