Well, you know that picture, in all of the strip mall poster shops, of a seedy 50s diner with Bogart and Elvis and Marilyn sitting in it at 3 am, smoking and looking haggard? It's not quite that. But it gives you that same feeling of equal parts excitement, angst, and fatalism that is pretty much the essence of rock music. The tunes are upbeat, catchy pop/rock, but in the lyrics you feel that uneasiness that we all have fealt just below the surface of everyday life. Come on in. Have some pie and ice cream. Watch out for the needles.
