Nine Litre could be described as an emotional assault on the senses, with a live show that makes you forget the songs are sad. Formed in 1997, Nine Litre has had several members come and go with the final line up consisting of Mike Hembree (Vocals, Guitar), Ryan Trulove (Bass, Vocals), and Adam Bowie (Drums). In the early days Nine Litre started as a 3 piece Melodic punk band, but as the remaining members grew and experienced life's many ups and downs, they realized that there is more to writing songs than complaining about girls. So what can be listed as the key factor in Nine Litre's growth? "I would say tragedy and loss, there seems to be a lot of that going around lately, that's just what we express when we write songs now"- Adam9Litre. Nine Litre has set a firm foundation for itself in the local scene by playing many shows and treating the fans as if they were all close friends. On stage Nine Litre puts on an amazing energy driven show, that entertains you and keeps you wanting more. Sharing stages with such bands as 98 Mute, the Deviates, and Cigar, and playing venues such as the Roxy, the Key Club and the Whisky, Nine Litre knows what they have to do and they appear to be headed in he right direction. So what can be expected out of Nine Litre in the future? "We don't know, we don't fit any mold and we are always changing, so expect anything" - Ryan9Litre.
