Artist History Praysong started as a natural outgrowth of the music ministry at the Courthouse Road SDA Church in Richmond, VA. As Mike and Tom wrote more and more songs (and Jeanne sang them), it became obvious that these needed to be recorded. The original idea was to produce a simple demo CD, but that soon turned into a 10 month recording, mixing and mastering project. This was all AFTER the songs were fully written and arranged. The end result is a CD that, although far from perfect, we are quite proud of. We enlisted the help of some Tennessee friends to do much of the vocals, since Tom and Mike sing like a couple of dying pigs. Because of this configuration, we haven't done much traveling since it would be difficult to pull all of the necessary players together. So, for now, we are strictly a studio group. We are already gearing up for CD #2. We have about half of the songs written and several more in the works. This CD should have a more diverse sound with more vocalists and possibly a new musician or two. The production quality should be higher as well, due to some new equipment being purchased. Press Reviews No reviews per se, but we have had some minor successes:- The "Everlasting Lord" CD was featured on WNLR in Staunton, VA radio station in January.- Several songs from the CD have gotten airplay, including "Light of the World" which is currently on the hot rotation at WNLR- "Stand" was selected as a regional finalist in the Gospel Music Association's Song of the Year competition.
