Artist History
Born in Calcutta, India, with an English mother and Scottish father, Peter was brought up in London. His main achievements at school were winning poetry competitions and acting in Shakespeare plays. He got his first guitar at fifteen and made the transition from poet to song-writer. Joined a multi-cultural show band, the 'Go-World brass Band' as a singer, guitarist and sax player, performing professional and charity concerts around the UK. After this, he formed a blues/rock band 'Original Mind' and performed throughout the USA for one year.In 1988, with more musicians playing varied styles of original songs, they toured Europe, especially Germany, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Romania. They had many radio and TV appearances, including being twice on Sky TV Europe.In 1994, he founded Original Mind Songs Music Publishing, promoting several bands and song-writers.In 1996, he went to Japan, composing and performing his own songs, some of which were inspired by the culture and people of Japan. In 1998 in London, these songs were recorded on the album 'Tokyo Time'. Went on a promotional tour of Japan during late 1999, playing shows, festivals . Several radio shows featured him, with his own half hour programmes in 5 different areas and one hour on Iwate FM. The CD wasplaced in various stores in Japan and also Tower Records in London.In June 2000, played concerts in the Kansai area of Japan, interviewed on Koichi FM and met with FM radio and TV stations in Osaka. |
