Artist History
Leslie Mendez is a native of Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. Since early on Leslie has had the Artist twinkle in her eye, already performing by the tender age of 4. Through the years her training went from singing at her church, learning and playing trumpet in the city band, and progressing to singing Jazz at Berklee College. Since starting her professional career in the early 90’s, Leslie has won "Best New Artist" and "Best Artist" in New England. Leslie’s first album took her touring to major cities, including Philadelphia, Dallas, and Atlantic City, culminating in a performance before over 500,000 people at the renowned Washington DC Hispanic Festival. Subsequent albums have Charted in the Top 20 in Puerto Rico, and the Top 15 in the US. Leslie has continued touring all of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. There are new goals this year with a new and third album. Plans are in the works to tour Argentina, parts of Europe, and Asia to showcase Leslie's unique brand of Salsa and singing. |
