Press Reviews
-Taken from Underfoot Records' Band of the Month January 2002-

In between the lukewarm branches of the South Florida indie world (South Miami and West Palm Beach) lays a petri dish of unused talent (Broward County) which has very recently been churching out some pretty cool musical acts. Among this new breed of SoFla punk-rock are power charged emo boys For What It's Worth.
Despite all of the members are too young to legally drink (the oldest being guitarist Bob and bassist Jon both at 18) the boys in FWIW still execute an exciting brand of emo-punk that not only rivals that of the majority of bands (CRAP!!!!) on Vagrant Records, but is about 100 times more tolerable.
In their early days For What It's Worth played a more "chug-pop" style, and were quite frequently referred to as blatant New Found Glory rip offs. Rumor even has it, that Chad of NFG himself even wrote a scathing little message to the band on their website Guestbook telling the group to piss off (in so many words).
Nowadays the band proudly cites influences from all over the emo map, from the flirtations with hardcore of Thursday to the sing-songy nature of The Stryder. Pop minus sap seems to be the musical formula, and lead singer Ben NEVER lapses into that dreaded nasal Vagrant whine that seems to have all the girls screaming these days. Coupled with smooth back up vocals, For What It's Worth manage to pull of some great harmonies which helps avoide the monotony found when vocalists become convinced their name is "Chris Carraba."
Already garnering quite the following, For What It's Worth recently wrapped up a mini-state tour with brothers in Broward, Don King Lives in My Backyard and Bum Ruckus. Their debut demo "Rock Out With Your Cock Out" is earning quite the buzz around local emo circles, and features 6 great nuggets of sound that do an excellent job of representing this hard working, good sounding group.
Vagrant bastards they aint.
