Artist History
The Fast Actin' Fuses were formed in Boston, MA in 2001. Comprised of five guys who had been around the block a few times in bands like Wrecking Crew, Suckerpunch, Bastard Squad and Masterbleed, the Fuses were drawn together by their collective interest in music, movies & beer. After a few rehearsals it was obvious that they had stumbled onto a Punk/Rock hybrid that combined all of their favorite influences.
In their first year of existence Fast Actin' Fuses played numerous venues all over Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. Playing shows with national acts like the Amazing Crowns, Lords of Altamont & the Start as well as numerous local bands, the Fuses have earned their reputation as a ferocious live act. Carly Carioli from the Boston Phoenix wrote, "the tunes are like AC/DC outtakes that've been sent away to Poison Idea's charm school." Playing live is what the members of F.A.F. love to do and it shows. To quote the Boston rock rag, The Noise: "When the FAF get going, they're a fuckin' steamroller of bad boy boogie." We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
As far as recorded material goes, the Fast Actin' Fuses' song, "Cocaine Samurai", was featured on the compilation CD "No Sleep For Hardcore" which was distributed with the latest issue of the legendary local punk 'zine, Suburban Voice. More recently, the Fuses’ version of "Rock Against Ass" by Norway's Turbonegro was included on that band's fan club web site, Turbojugend USA (www.turbojugendusa.com), and is scheduled to be released on the upcoming Turbonegro tribute album, "Beta Motherfuckers". The Fuses are currently gearing up for the release of their first CD, “Sayonara”, this spring on Boston's own Rodent Popsicle Records. F.A.F. will be playing as many shows as possible on the East Coast after the release of the CD. So if you happen to catch them at a show join 'em at the bar and say hello.

Press Reviews
Tattoed head Fuse Lovely Kevin Darling babbles and squeals like Tesco Vee and Handsome Dick Manitoba locked in a cripple-baiting contest; the tunes are like AC/DC outtakes that have been sent away to Poison Idea's charm school. The source of their mistirioso superpowers is revealed on "Cocaine Samurai" a set highlight that's sorta like Drunk on Cock-era New Bomb Turks assuming the position next to Accept's "Balls to the Wall". Plus the recorded version bears the telltale one-note piano solo of dyed in the wool Stooges fetishism. Cred? Lovely Kevin once fronted the sub-GG scumfuck band Masterbleed, who were so terrible that Anal Cunt's Seth Putnam owns two copies. An album is said to be in the works. Meantime, see 'em live: they're the only band in town with the gonads to cover Turbonegro's "Rock Against Ass". - Carly Carioli, Boston Phoenix |
