Artist History
John was born in Monahans, Texas, USA January 5th, 1964, and started playing guitar at age five. He formed his first band in the summer of '77, called Blood Oath, with which he began preparing for his first live performance at The Rockhaven in Ft. Worth, Texas. Next, he joined a group called Vega$ and began performing live in nightclubs throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. As his taste began grow into heavier material, he began playing with such groups as: Silhouette, Menace, Massive Pain, Chalice, Platinum Axxe, Covenant, Iron Cross, and TOA. Soon with these bands he began playing in such clubs throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth area as: The Long Horn Ballroom, The Ritz, Balloons', Garfield's, The Tombstone Factory, The Wedgewood West, and La Hacienda. It was with these bands that he developed the skills neccessary to perform live "on the road" as a professional musician. In 1985, he recorded his first multi-track studio demo featuring the songs:"Fight For Your Life" and "A Touch of Pain". In the summer of 1989 (to further pursue his musical career), John moved to Hollywood, California. He joined several Rock groups, including: Wizzards, Heavy Flavor, Pryzm, Sweatbox, One Mack Flash, and The Mounks. While with the band Heavy Flavor, he got a part in the Oliver Stone movie: "The Doors," did multiple film/radio interviews and documentaries (including Easy Rider Video #19), and established necessary business connections in the music industry! They performed in establishments such as: Gazaries, The Central, The Coconut Teaser on "Sunset Strip," The All Natural Fudge Cafe, The Frolic Room II./The Onk, Frogg's, Ragie's, Gorkey's, and Hollywood Live (off of Hollywood Blvd.) and many more. All this time, writing original music to be recorded for singles, albums, videos, and tours! After enduring LA's extremely hard life, and experiencing the "Hollywood scene," John decided to find a more suitable place to live while writing his music, so he moved north into the beautiful and majestic forests of the "Redwood Empire," also known worldwide as the "Emerald Triangle," (Eureka, California,USA) After a trip down the west coast and back through Hollywood, John retreated to his place of birth in the great state of Texas. Now he is residing in Chicago, IL. USA |
