Artist History
Europa Jazz Band was formed in 1980 and was originally a "Mecca" band, working for the Mecca Organisation who owned ballrooms around the country including several venues in the Birmingham area - The Locarno, The Mayfair Suite, Tower Ballroom and Tiffany's. The band held several residencies and also toured the circuit providing music for general dancing, and was the backing band for many touring artists.Over the years Europa Jazz Band has played for Royal events, made TV and radio broadcasts and was chosen to provide music for the opening event of the N.E.C Arena in Birmingham. With the changing pattern of music the band has altered it's style and now plays traditional/mainstream jazz with numerous residencies in the City of Birmingham. |
