Press Reviews
Dragonfly: 12/27, "Pretty Ugly" club, this female fronted rock/hard core band has been through a few changes in the past year. The last gig I caught at the Coconut Teazser was just as energetic & driving, but the live show has certainly tightened & matured. Lead singer Toni Valenta?s charisma & sensuality pulsate through the solid guitar riffs reminiscent of late 70?s classics, such as Led Zeppelin. Backed by powerful percussion and the impressive Lisa Black wailing on lead guitar, Valenta occasionally dropped the rhythm axe to grace us with her rendition of Zach de la Rocha gliding the catwalk, of which my favorite had to be "Complicated". Pondering "why is everything so f*&%g complicated", the audience?s response wasn?t of actual theory, but simply repetition of the mantra, the jerk & sway motion of heads, rocking out. ~ Catalina Rox http://www.thelamusicscene.com/onthescene/ots_archive00001.html |
