Artist History
Shane was drawn to the Miami hardcore/new metal scene because it seems to push all the limits. After getting involved with different styles of music, each one seemed to lack something. New metalhad no standards, no restrictions, and you're free to do what you want... it's just about playing goodmusic. joe was attracted to electronic music because of the inherent capabilities of electronic equipment: endless possibilities and precision allowed for complete artistic freedom. Jungle, specifically, hadthe aggression and complicated rhythms other types of electronic music lacked. They shared interests in a few bands/groups that seemed to bridge these two styles in small ways,so they wanted to create something which would directly incorporate aspects of both. Shane also always had an interest in technology-based music, while joe still liked certain aspects of metal. Thus, Hyposomnia was born. To complete the live performance, they recruited the help of a drummer with rock and jazz influences, and are currently searching for a singer who can adapt himself to fit both styles. This is Hyposomnia. |
