Artist History Detuned Radio as a band began at a Friday, September 10, 1999 "jam session" at which lead singer Rich Finneran, drummer Steve Luther, and guitarists Kunal Bhat and John Thibodeaux were each present. John had written a song called "Dark" which all the other attendees of the session thought was amazing. By the next morning Rich had found two more songs he'd written earlier ("One Chance" and "I Want To Know") and e-mailed them to the rest of the group. He made a mailing list and a website for the group and also sent out a list of possible names. They agreed on the name "FlashPoint" and the logo Rich had made. The name was changed to "Detuned Radio" on July 16, 2000, upon the band's realizing the name was taken.
