Artist description
BGMS aka Ben Got Me Sick is a combination of 4 college friends who formed a band at the last second. Its hard to describe our sound since we didn't really try to fit any sound. We just got together and jamed. This is the resulting product. They are fairly on the fly live recordings captured by Matt's minidisk recorder. Do to this there isn't really a "mix" and the sound tends to be all over the place featuring skips, pops, clips, and the occasionally loss of rhythm. While others may consider these screw ups, we like to think of it as "character," though more likely we are just a bunch of audiophiles in denial. These files are here for us, our friends, and whoever else wants to listen to them. They are our recorded history. Imperfect yes, but who cares, we had fun. |

Artist History
BGMS is the result of a year long quest for a band. Solid in this lineup were Marc, Matt, and Andrew. After going through multiple drummers, writing, destroying, and writing more, BGMS recieved Ben on drums. Most songs were trashed or reinvented and after months of being put off by other projects and school work, BGMS finally had a setlist. In its minute history, BGMS performed three shows. The first was a open mic night at Ohio University's coffee house: The Front Room. Then at the end of the year, after BGMS realized they were never going to find an actual show somewhere to play, Matt threw a house party and which BGMS played along with Collapse (our "brother band" featuring Marc and Ben and their friends (please visit their site as they are much cooler then us :D.. )) Anyway, we setup Matt's minidisk recorder, got totally psyched up and played an awesome set. Unfortunatly no one remembered to hit record. So we did it again! This time to a much smaller audience (we like to think of this as being a special intimate private show for only our TRUE fans, though really we only think that cause most of the people we invited didn't show up.) While this show was even close to being as good as the previous nights, we did get it recorded and along with two studio tracks we did, thats what you'll find on this site. One day Ben came to band practice with a fever. The rest is history. |
