Artist History AISLING started their arsenal early in the year 1998. Founding members Paul Ward (guitar), Adrian Arellano (bass), Rick Murphy (drums), and Luke Wagnon (guitar) teamed to build the foundation. They immediately began writing. "The songs just flow when you have so many talented musician's thinking as one mind" says guitarist Paul Ward. Though the writing process was nonstop, the band was not yet complete. The search for the right vocalist ensued. Audition after audition their search became tedious. Finally after countless singers, they found Miguel Briones, completing what is now AISLING. AISLING is Miguel Briones (vocals), Paul Ward (guitar), Luke Wagnon (guitar), Adrian Arellano (bass), Rick Murphy (drums). These five boys create some of the most diverse, dynamic heart felt music a person can experience. Influences ranging from HUM to APHEX TWIN to FAR. To add to the already talented team their experience has already surpassed that of most. Members have shared the stage with such acts as Sevendust, Suicidal Tendencies, Pitchshifter, Pissing Razors, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Gravity Kills, L7, Puya, Hatebreed, Caroline Spine, Papa Roach and played along side The Long Beach Dub All Stars on MTV'S Caffeine tour. Also fulfilling childhood dreams by opening for the 80's rock group W.A.S.P. and most recently gracing the stage with bands Dredg & Codeseven. "These boys can rock any somnambulist awake and still lay down some funky beats," What's Up Magazine. AISLING continues their ongoing attack into people's heads by relentlessly touring the U.S. with an occasional return to their hometown of El Paso, TX. Press Reviews AISLING "Estrella" This 10-song LP - the last song lasts a full 21 minutes - is noisy, hectic, busy, melodic and soft all at once. The first song "White Lie" is in-your-face with pounding guitar and a voice from Miguel Briones that screams for truth. My favorites would have to be "For Now" a 5-minute melodic frenzy; "Alchemy Of Sound" a 2-minute piano harmony that reminds me of Bjork's "Vespertine" album; and "Quintilian" an electronic, trance-like song that'll make you want to worship this band. I can't compare them to anyone famous you might've heard of, simply because they take a little bit from everyone, although I will mention that TOOL came to mind when I heard it for the first time. If you're mad at someone or stressing about something and want to take a breather, put this in your CD player, lie down, close your eyes, and let it take the stress away.
