    Artist description
Recorded in a small apartment in San Francisco from December to February 2001, these songs are the result of a 3 month hiatus from a home in Los Angeles and everything comfortable and familiar. Gary holed himself up at a friend?s place and recorded through the hours overdubbing most of the instruments himself with some help from a few friends (cello and some keys). people who know these songs have said ?Yea I can hear some Elliot Smith in there?, ?Gary Bowie?, ?some hints of Nirvana huh?? and ?hey man you sound like Bright Eyes?. All valid points, and taken as compliments. Thank you.
    Artist History
Somewhat of a ?supergroup? each member has made some amazing music and art well before this new group was possible. Gary played all over the east coast in a feverish indie rock band called The Kung-Fu Grip from 1992-1996 and later toured around the west coast (1997-2000) splitting singing and songwriting duties in SF based band Heavy Pebble. Eric Layer relocated from Seattle where he is known as one of the four members of hilarious ?sketch tragedy? theatre group Piece of Meat. Their inspired blend of dark comedy, jolly anarchy, and social commentary breathes new life into the traditional sketch comedy format. His own original music is sometimes also featured in their sketches. Jennifer Turner hails from New York where she vigorously played around the east coast with an eight piece band called Marmalade. She later hooked up with Natalie Merchant and layed her tasteful guitar lines all over Merchant?s solo debut Tigerlilly. Jennifer is an amazing singer and songwriter on her own and will soon release a full recording with her new band. Mark Herringer is a transplant from Oregon where he was the drummer for Portland?s Subatomic Calling. He has also toured around the US with punk-funk band Signified Monkey. Mark?s contained rhythms work well with the potential energy Bellevue unleash on their audiences. The live show is slightly different sounding than the recording, Bellevue?s intensity live is louder and heavier. Imagine swapping the acoustic guitars for electric guitars, adding a full drum set and turning up the volume. Bellevue can be seen playing local LA clubs such as The Silverlake Lounge, Spaceland, and the Troubador.
