Artist History
two bands made up of foreigners living in taiwan collided on an island off the coast of china for an international festival. a fusion of both of them became milk which in a year, became the top drawing foreign band in taiwan. recording two cds and playing hundreds of shows, Milk has continued to mature and grow. They have become to 'go to' band on the Taiwan music scene. Being called to step in for 'Suicidal Tendencies' when the Tendencies couldnt find LAX in time for their flight. Later, Milk followed New Yorks 'Biohazard' onto the stage in anticipation of the evenings 'Megadeth' concert. A hippy funk band being welcomed by the hardcore/punk scene? Witness a show and maybe you will learn why. As well, 'Milk' has wowed Taiwan audiences co-headlining tours with the incomparable Seattle band 'Guardian Alien' and the explosive Japanese band 'Mimi Chan' as well as the outstanding 'Q' from Austin Texas and the legendary experimental band 'Cricket'. 'MIlk's' first cd 'Milk' sold over 1000 copies. The second cd ' Spacegear' has sold over 1500 so far. |

Press Reviews
"Heavily dipped in rhythm and funk-ass grooves, Milk blends an old-school reggae vibe with sweet rhythm guitar, soulful lyrics and a driving bass. The didjeridoo adds an underlying pulse to this tasty brew that guarantees to shake your groove thing. A definite party band. In fact, I've never seen a Milk show last under 2 hours. These guys obviously love to jam." -- Steve Taylor, Compass Magazine November 2000" A Canadian / Australian outfit, Milk played perhaps the best set of the night with a wonderful mixture of rock and reggae flavored tunes, and in particular, some blinding drumming." -- Jim Sadler, The China Post, July 2000"After a while i began to think that the words "Taiwan" and "Counterculture" aren't so uncomfortable together. Milk, formed one month before last years Spring Scream for the purpose of playing it, is now one of the most popular bands among ex-pats in Taiwan. For Spring Scream, their shimmery dresses and indescribable music made right with the dancing fans" --Scott Faye, The China Post, April 2001 |
