Artist description
REDSHIFT 6 is a sextet that defies genre classification. The band, formed at Tufts University in 1999, continues to evolve its sonic palette, incorporating elements of rock, jazz and funk. Influences include Soulive, Allman Brothers Band, John Scofield, Bruce Hornsby and Herbie Hancock. REDSHIFT 6 performs original material as well as interpreting songs by such artists as Phish, Sublime and Pink Floyd. This very eclectic group produces music that is appreciated and enjoyed by an audience as diverse as the band itself. |
