Artist History
Paul Porter began writing and performing songs in Huntington Beach, CA where he grew up. While living in Fairbanks, Alaska, Porter’s song Two Street won a song contest and received airplay on local radio. That airplay and Porter’s live performances attracted the attention of the local indie label, Lift Records. Porter’s first single for Lift records, Crumble and Die also received college radio airplay in Alaska as well as other areas throughout the U.S. This media attention- TV, radio and print interviews- and the increased live performances, exposed Porter to a much wider audience. Paul Porter’s success in Alaska prompted him to move to Seattle. Porter formed the band October to perform his original songs. A local production company, EMG, signed Porter to a recording contract after hearing the October demo. October has evolved into The Stand. |
