Artist History
Hailing from Palmerston North, the Nana Squad formed in 2000. The 'Squad have taken the time out to play a seemingly endless list of shows around the country, throw tracks on several compilations and more recently produce 2 split cd's ( one with Japan's 'R69' and one with Auckland's glam punk rock riot band 'We Dunno' ).
The Nana Squad are also the meathead's behind festive punk munter band 'Sleigher' who have produced 2 album's '10 tips: for filling your stocking with festive self loving' ( 2001 ) and the new album "The best gifts are the ones you make yourself" ( 2002 ). Both comprise a 50/50 split of new christmas songs and re-hashed obliterations of all your old favourites.
The Nana Squad pride themselves on an entertaining live show, even though it's been proved that they can't play their instruments properly. Never the less, a full nationwide tour of both islands is being planned for February/March 2003, so watch out.
