Artist History
Corrosion History
Corrosion are the product of the final era of the established UK
gothic act All Living Fear Formed by Matthew North in 1992.
At the ends of 2000 it was by mutual agreement that the current
format of All Living Fear had run its course and it was also
decided that with the former bands history it would be democratic
to start a fresh on a 50/50 footing and thus Corrosion was created.
Corrosion played their debut live performance on the 12th May 2001
supporting Swedish gothic rock band Funhouse to a very receptive audience
at the Camden Underworld in London.
Since then the band have been working in the studio on new material
and will be planning more live gigs in the summer around the UK and Europe. |

Press Reviews
From Recent Live gigs:-
Corrosion are a rebadged version of All Living Fear. They both wander on stage looking like a band who've lost the bass player and a drummer. They don't much look like a Band ... But! they sound like one, starting with a bit of a guitar frenzy, and generally being a model of clarity compared to D.U.S.T. Unsurprisingly, they sound a bit like All Living Fear, and even throw in a rather good cover of ALF's "Fortunes Light".
Well, I guess we weren't really expecting sexy latin rhythms or a bit of drum'n'bass. Of course the addition of sexy latin rhythms (or whatever) would have added variety to their sound, and perhaps help save Corrosion from any "just a new name for ALF" style comments. But, OK, so Corrosion are for the guitar-band fans, so some people might say their sound lacks variety. In a way it does, but this is well offset by the fact the song instead are distinguished more by lyrics that you can hear: they do rather better than Funhouse in this respect. I enjoyed Corrosion quite a bit, too - not having seen/heard All Living Fear in a very long time, all of the material played was new to me (and was a pleasant surprise). Good tunes, pretty good debut for the new band... although I think Paul's poor health can't have helped vocals or stage presence much... I'd like to see them again when he's fully recovered.
