Press Reviews
Boys Night Out has recently released their latest album, entitled "Make Yourself Sick". While some people will listen to them and hear just another emopunk band, you have to give them at least some credit. They've taken a rather depressing genre and added something to it that isn't added to it all too often: fun.
Right from the beginning of the CD, the first track "I Got Punched In The Nose For Sticking My Face In Other People's Business" (whew), it starts off fast paced and upbeat, then it busts into a hardcore breakdown, then next thing you know, back into a happy upbeat clap-along verse. It's the subtle touches like that which make this CD so enjoyable to listen to.
The quality of the CD is solid. Some of the electronics the band implements into the CD work very well, and the rest of the music sounds great. Everything comes through excellent.
Speaking of the music, this is where the negative part of the CD review comes into play. Is Boys Night Out's music anything new? Defenitely not. It's a nice spin on the genre, but it's by no means original in any way, but they do make their music better than plenty of other bands, that's for sure. Fortunately, I love this genre of music, so I really dig this CD a lot.
Ever since I heard their e-card, I've been dying to get ahold of this CD, and I've finally got it and I couldn't be any more impressed with it. It's an extremely solid and fun disc to listen to, and I will be playing this much more in the future, that's for sure. I like this disc, and if you like the genre, you will too. Check it out.
