Artist History
After learning that each other played an instrument, Chad and Nick were eager to start a band in 1999. Chad and Nick played together and learned a few cover songs. They sounded pretty good on their bad amps. That Chanauka, a friend of theirs, Nathan, recieved an electric guitar. Chad and Nick invited him to jam with them. In spring of 2000, the members found out that Bix played the drums and was really good. They invited him to play with them. The band was named Perfect Pitch, but it sounded too much like a string quartet so they dropped that name. Soon after, Nick purchased a new Fender Twin Reverb. Nathan got new pick-ups for his guitar, and a new Crate GFX-212. At the end of the summer, Chad got a new Fender Jazz Bass. In January Bix purchased a new Pearl Export drum kit. Chad than purchased a new Crate BFX-100 in Janurary. The band was still in need of a name and went through odd ones such as Flying Butruss and Kroy Wen. A while later, while Chad and Nick were playing the High School's standup bass and noticed that someone had written "Orangefoot Microphonic" on it. It sounded cool, but was kind of odd. So they thought of Apple Corps, but Chad thought, "What is it with us and fruit?" So Nathan came up with the name leftofsix. It sounded cool so they stuck with it. But then changed it back to Orangefoot Microphonic. |
