Artist description
John Cleveland performs regularly with the jazz ensembles of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. He also does many private parties every year where he provides everything from solo piano to a nine piece band. The most common ensemble in which he performs is a trio of piano, bass, and drums. Well know performances he has accompanied include John Dankworth, Steve Allen, Bob McGrath of Sesame Street, and Cornelius Bumpus of Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers. On one magic night John even had the pleasure of accompanying Jon Hendricks, the inventor of vocalese. |

Artist History
John arranges, composes and provides custom sound recordings on assignment. He was the producer of the PBS television documentary "The Tatum Legacy," a study of the life and music of jazz piano legend Art Tatum. That program won the 1983 award for "Program of the Year" for Ohio Educational Broadcasting. |
