Artist History
The Scott Burg Band began slowly forming in 1994 in Madison, WI from a pool of talented young musicians studying at the University of Wisconsin. These cats played in a few local bands (Jazz From Mars, Boondog & Mr. Phook, etc.), but the SBB was pretty much a jam project on the side for the members of these different groups who wanted to stretch their musical horizons with some ecclectic influences. Some of the musicians playing loosely as the SBB (then known as the Clearuen Deep) moved out to Northern California, where this debut album was finished. Since receiving accolades from early demos of Helplessly Free, the boys decided to play with the ecclectic concept, and are now preparing to take an increasingly jam-oriented version of the SBB on the road. |
