Artist History
…although formed as a band in East Texas in 1995, Last Great Day members originate from cities all across the country. Drummer Arbon Reimer and guitarist Jay Rogers are both Colorado natives, and have played music together for nearly seven years. Bass player Tony Hillerson grew up in Iowa, and met up with Jay while the two attended college in East Texas. Recruiting the help of a singer and drummer, the band played shows across the Lone Star State including frequent performances in Dallas and as far away as Shreveport, Louisiana. Arbon remained in Denver, occasionally writing and playing with Jay while on college vacations.
Jay and Tony relocated to Denver in 1997 which brought about changes in the band's lineup. Arbon resumed his place as drummer. Craig Reams, a St. Louis native who came to Denver after serving four years in the Marines, was recruited as lead vocalist, rounding out the band's current lineup.
Though the band has been through changes, Last Great Day's sound has always remained constant. With influences as varied as Rush, Alice in Chains, and Tool, Last Great Day is a mix of intricate rhythms, intellegent arangements, and complex layers, combined with a healthy dose of heavy riffs and melodic hooks.
Over the last year, Last Great Day has performed at such venues as Cricket on the Hill, Herman's Hideaway, Iliff Park Saloon, Area 39, T&R's Club, and The Blitz Room. |
