Artist description
Daddy Banned It is a four man rock and roll band
from the Cincinnati, Ohio and Southeastern Indiana
areas. The band was formed in December of 1990
by guitarist Rick Kern, guitarist Frank Zielinski
and bassist Bill Hinds. Drummer Dave Peck was
replaced by Steve Ludwig in 1992 and the lineup
has been the same ever since.
We play our own brand of straight forward, high
energy, danceable hard rock. Influences range
from Aerosmith and AC/DC to Sister Hazel and
Matchbox 20. Our debut self-produced CD entitled
“Rules” was released in July of 1997. Principal
songwriter Rick Kern handles lead vocals on the
CD with backup vocals from all other members.
Everyone shares lead vocal responsibilities at
live gigs.
Daddy Banned It has built a sizable following of
fans by remaining faithful to our rock roots
while most of the other bands playing the same
circuit started playing some or all new country.
In the Southeastern Indiana circuit we are the
number one draw at every club we play. Our lively
fast paced show consistently keeps the dance
floor full and the bar receipts high.
Writing has begun for our next album which is
planned to be recorded and released in
summer/fall of 2000. Expect another album full
of catchy exciting rock and roll with writing
contributions from all band members. Our fan
base in the Cincinnati area is rapidly growing
and we plan to expand to cover the better clubs
in the tri-state area. From there, who knows…..
