Artist History Operation Interstellar was formed in the summer of 1999 by Vince Bafetti, Jason O'Broin, Rafi Jacoby, and Bill Meehan. Jason (guitar) and Vince (keys) had been working together on various projects, but were looking for a solid rhythm section to get a band off the ground. Rafi (bass, vocals) and Bill (drums) were hanging out at a party with them, and the idea just appeared. Bill left in spring of 2000 to move back East, and was replaced by local legend J.J. Cache. Operation Interstellar has been gigging around Oakland and San Francisco since October of 2000, and has just finished work on their first album, "S.O.S.O.I."
