Artist History
Born in Zürich/Switzerland in 1972. 1983-87: studying drums at the music academy in Basel/Switzerland. 1988: starting to play electric guitar. 1988-94: composing and playing for several pop&rock bands. 1994-96: studying at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern. 1996-97 studies and diploma at the Los Angeles Music Academy. 1997-98: working at the L.A. Music Acad. as an ensemble acompanist for bassplayers, and as a teacher for the Modern Music School in Pasadena/CA. 1998-now working as guitarist, composer and teacher in Switzerland.
Chasper Wanner started to compose for Jazz&Fusion Trios in 1996 and has been playing several gigs in L.A. from 1996-98. Back in Switzerland he founded his first group called "f-fossils", and participated in other projects. After 2 Years of playing his compositons with different musicians, Chasper Wanner founded nøretro. nøretro started off as an original ecm-fusion trio in 1998. In 2000/01 joined by several guest-musicians(sax/trombone/percussion). The band has been performing mainly in Switzerland and participated an international guitar competition. After two demos nøretro recorded it's debut longplay cd in Feb/March 2001 which was released in August 2001. In August 2002 Chasper recorded his new demo called "outmars"(check out some rawmix tunes of it!!), with two new group members(vibes, drums), which we‘ll be released soon.
