Artist description
Each a rap icon in his own right, MC Square and Sugarless have joined forces to write masterful hip-hop tunes with strong pop sensibilities. This dynamic duo of rhythm knows how to bust a rhyme, but is not afraid of showing their softer side in tributes like "The Freakzilla Jeff Rap." |

Artist History
MC Square and Sugarless have each spent significant time cultivating their careers as solo artists. Sugarless was laying down beats as early as 1964, and although he spent a brief stint in the early nineties the band "Lust Control," he has always preferred the freedom of solo recording. MC Square spent much of the 60s and 70s as a circus performer, swallowing fire and swords. It was with Barnum & Bailey that he first had a taste of performance art, and under the tutelage of resident fat lady Augusta Maxine, he began composing simple rhymes to the delight of children everywhere. Realizing the power of the spoken word, MC Square left the circus and took his performance solo. The two found each other in late 1997 and took immense pleasure in trading ideas and comparing notes. Despite their strong independent careers, the two decided to join forces to record an album under the simple moniker "MC Square & Sugarless." |
