Artist History
b.1982 Newfoundland, Canada
Mark began studying piano at age 5, and continued after moving from Vancouver to Edmonton in 1993, performing in numerous music festivals, and playing piano in jazz groups.
In 1997, after studying composition with Allan Gilliland, he was selected for John Estacio's Young Composer's Project, where he wrote a piece for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, which received two performances. Also written at this time were several chamber works, performed locally.
Moving into film scoring (and back to Vancouver), he worked on Bobby Richardson's D'ni Legacy, Byron Lamarque's After, Still Life with Scissors, Once Upon a Time On a Beach, and Jennifer Oey's Button. With works screened at festivals in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Montréal, Edinburgh Scotland, and broadcast on CBC, Mark plans to continue with film scoring.
Mark currently works in the Faculty of Recording Arts at UBC, and is in the third year of his bachelor's degree in music composition. |

Press Reviews
For "A Doll's House":
Mark Germani's original music has lovely references to Grieg which adds to the ambience of 19th century Scandinavia.
