Artist History
John Darby was born in Seattle, Washington on November 7, 1941. He has been a Psychiatrist in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1975. He is shown here in his piano studio, at home. He has played piano, as a hobby, but now has begun professional music production.
He began studies at North Texas State University in 1960. He subsequently studied privately with Alfred and Lisa Mouledous in Dallas, Texas; with Ricks Knudson in Salt Lake City, Utah; at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas; with Barbara Wilkens in Palo Alto, California; and with Rocky Nevin in Berkeley, California. He was classically trained, but basically self taught in popular music.
His interest in the Spanish language and Latin Bolero songs is evident, as recorded on his Concert D Steinway (1954). |
