Unearthly Sufferance
2002 Gateways Productions
9 Skulls
Ilbred has been together since 1991, recording a three-song demo in 1994 to
considerable positive reaction, but the death of lead singer Rick Ohl at the
hands of a drunk driver in 1995 put the band’s activities on the back burner
for over a year. Finally, after several mis-steps, Ilbred recorded their
debut album of carnage and terror and the Death Metal scene will never be the
same. Frantic, double-layered vocal effects, gut-wrenching guitar solos and
pure holocaust drumming are all part of the mix as Unearthly Sufferance
drags the listener deep into the bowels of hell. Tracks like “Casualty”,
“You’re Dead Now” and “Mindloss” torture the eardrums and bruise the soul
with their suffocatingly brutal brand of violently evil Hate Metal. You may
not recover from this one. SOD Magazine |
