Artist description
El Tren is a "rock en espanol" trio from Puerto Rico. 60's British Invasion rock meets contemporary styles to form an obnoxious, yet melodic sound. Alex Lopez (guitar), Guiller Miranda (bass) and Juan Carlos del Valle (drums and lead vocals) are the musicians in this band that for sure, Ricky Martin fans will hate. |

Artist History
El Tren started out as "El Tren Urbano" in 1994. Pretty soon they started to play in the most important venues in the island. Club tours sponsored by Bacardi, Budweiser, Coors and many others followed, as well as opening slots for "rock en espanol" stars like Miguel Mateos, Enanitos Verdes and Fito Páez. Their 1997 album "Un Viaje Más" got them nominated for a "Tu Música" Award and a tour of South America proved that they were one of the hottest independent rock acts in Puerto Rico. In 1999, they published "Gracias a Dios por la Tele" and the promotional videos for their two singles "Electrica" and "Ella" were one of the most requested videos on TCV, Puerto Rico's #1 video music channel. Almost seven years later, with countless shows, TV appereances, radio and press interviews under their belts, El Tren has established themselves as one of Puerto Rico's hottest acts. They are currently working on material for a new album that is expected to be released in the fall of 2001. |

Press Reviews
"Gracias a Dios por la Tele" (Thank God for the TV) is an album to enjoy like fine wine, alone or with company, but always in very special moments. They have a clear and very own definition of their individual freedom. Straight rock, with esence and quality". Frankie Bibiloni - "El Vocero" (May, 2000) |
