Artist History
Founded in the early 1990's by Craig Vanderborgh and Steven Loe, atomiser set out to reinterpret the sonic world around them, starting out with
little more than an 8-track tape recorder, drum machine, synthesizer, and an endless collection of stomp boxes and other electronic gizmos. The
first target: the too often annoying and conservative territory of dance music. Atomiser finally realized their aims when affordable and practical
sampling technology became a reality. They took the cut-up and fold-in techniques of William S. Burroughs and Brion Gyson to a level of
precision previously unattainable with analog equipment. Rich sonic textures created by unorthodox digital treatments provide the basis for
Atomiser's unique sound. Nick King joined the project in 1998, contributing his exceptional compositional skills and unique rhythmic insights. |
