Artist History
Originating from the romantic wine country region of Northern California emerges WOODBINE. Acoustic Romantic Jazz, a splash of Brazilian Samba, spiced with surprising elements of the Celtic Spirit stirred in with a touch of Blues...a rhythmic fluid moving musical journey through time and place. This uncommon recipe seeks to describe the very unique sound and presence of WOODBINE. At the heart of WOODBINE are the stunningly sensitive dynamic harmony vocals and songwriting styles of Sonoma County music veterans JOANNA NOBLE and ROGER BOLT. As classically trained singers JOANNA and ROGER first joined artistic energies in 1968 at a Northern California College in music and drama departments. Following their twenty two-year reunion concert in October of 1996 they assembled an ensemble of extremely talented musicians who compliment their rich vocal harmonies and add a unique texture of sound and mood to their wonderful poetic lyrical songwriting style. The result has become their own timeless and magical signature within every original song. North Bay studio recording artist JACKSON FLADING compliments Rogers percussive rhythm guitar styles with his own keen sense of counterpoint, sweet arpeggios and note voicing with both the steel string acoustic guitar and the mandolin. |
