Artist description
The Dregg combine many different forms of metal into one musical smorgasbord, from straight forwardnew metal to deeper progressive metal to synth driven instrumentals The Dregg can be veryexperimental but never looses sight of what kindof music the group is based on. The tracks go betweenpsychodelic electronic rants to tight fast three minute rock songs but the overall feel remainsthe same, a slightly smarter form of metal thatstill isn't ashamed to be called metal. |

The band began in the late summer of 2000 with bassist Chris Mak, vocalist Andy Rosenberger, guitarist Russell Oyama, and Drummer Nate McKerdy. Soon after guitarist Samier Tapriel joined the band.Because of creative differences Russell Oyama and Nate McKerdy left The Dregg and formed Ritual Suicide Picnic, a replacement drummer Ian Nash was brought in until March 2001 when he was replaced byWoodstock Tom on drums. The Dregg made it's debutperformance at the Mid-Pacific Institute's AlohaProgram which was haled as a great success, unfortunetly the band imediatly found itself in a slump and it's next two performances where belowaverage, but with the new drummer and renewed energythe Dregg are poised for a comeback. |
