Artist History
We all used to sit around the campfire at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and make up funny songs about people we know.A year or so ago, Fred "Salty Dog" Moore got hisself a geetar for his birthday and, goaded by our friends in the Max Creek Family, learned how to play.Having his first gig scheduled before he had a band together, and before he learned how to play, was really the impetus for the rest of us to come along.Hiding our musical inexperience behind the brilliance of Keith "Banjer Boy" Galle'We dubbed usselves "Catharsis", and played our first gig at on Labor Day weekend 2000, at Sterling Stage in upstate New York, following a performance by the Legendary Max Creek! http://www.maxcreek.comWhen we landed a weekly gig at the Tohickon Tavern, in Ottsville PAWe knew we hit the big time. When the inebriated audience couldn't figure out how to pronounce "Catharsis", we prompltly changed our name to SpiTune. |
