Artist History
The Sons have come from very diverse backgrounds, but they blend together for an incredible sound. While James Lowman, Carmen Celi, and Dean Beaudoin have all had extensive musical training to help them along, both Lou DiMario and Kelly Coates are self-taught musicians.
Carm and Lou formed the backbone for the Sons in 1995, when they met in High school. Their current sound was not a reality until March of 2001 when James was brought in to the band as an additional guitarist. Shortly after that, it was decided that Kelly was a good front man. In June, after extensive auditions, the guys decided that Dean’s sound was perfect for the Sons. Since these 5 members have been together, they have traveled to Toronto numerous times to play with the likes of Econoline Crush, Clarknova, and Smoother at such venues as the Mississauga and the downtown locations of the Playdium. They have also played at The Kathedral in Toronto and are soon to play at the Opera House in October. The Sons were featured on 97.7 HTZ FM’s indie spotlight, September 27th, 2001.
Some of the band’s influences include Finger Eleven, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, and I Mother Earth.
The Sons are a group of highly motivated guys who will not sit back and let fame come to them. They will use anything in their arsenal (i.e.: beer) to make a mark in the music scene. In the future, the Sons hope to be able to make a career of doing what they love and to greatly impact the world of music. They want to show everyone their idea of what rock and roll is.
