Artist History (Erik) The band started as "The Remedy" in 1998, Ryan and I were the founders. Our friend, Shawn Stephens joined us playing drums, after about a year he moved to San Diego with his family, so we were searching for someone to fill his shoes. CJ anderson joined in 1999, and added some rap, and great bass lines to the bands style. Sadly enough, after about 6 months he decided to persue other interests, but he's still a great friend who can really jam on the stringed instruments known as guitar and bass. In 2000 Naphtali Smith joined the band. At this point each member could play each instrument, so it gave us alot of options. We were all on the same mind frame, give it all we got, and that's what we're doing as of now. We are now Martyr Reef, and we have two CD's under our belt. Look for us in the future, because we plan on being here awhile.
