Artist description
Man of War is a musical currently being written by composer Andy Bellenie and lyricist Phil Campbell. The music, story and lyrics are all constantly in development, as old ideas develop, and new ideas shed light on previous content, making this show as much as a surprise to it's creators as to those who are following it's development. |

Artist History
Andy Bellenie has been writing a wide variety of music for the past 5 years, and has recently been nominated for the Artist of the Year award on Traxinspace. His other music, including contemporary trip-hop, ambience and classical, can be found online at www.mp3.com/spf. He has written several plays, including his well respected adaptation of The Collector by John Fowles, and been participating in theatre since he was a young child.Phil Campbell has also been interested in theatre from a young age, and has been a devotee of the musical for as long as he can remember. He did try writing music, but has since left that behind to concentrate on directing plays and writing lyrics. They met at a performing arts course in 1995, and then got to know each other better at sixth form college. By chance, Phil brought some lyrics he'd worked on for another project to the piano room where Andy was working on a new piece, and they instantly combined the two, and Man of War was born in that moment.Man of War is in constant development, in all of it's elements, and the songs on this site will most likely be changed a hundred times before any thought is given to an actual performance. It's also very open to outside influence, there are many lovers of musical theatre, and this site hopes to allow visitors and listeners to directly interact with the creators of Man of War.Andy and Phil plan to complete Man of War sometime before they die. |
